HotSpatial 2017

ApWeb workshop on Hot topics in Big Spatial Data and Urban Computing

together with ApWeb-WAIM -- July 07 – 09, 2017, Beijing, China

Important Dates

Introduction:

The last decade has seen a rapid growth in spatial data, such as trajectory data generated by smart mobile devices, ambient sensors, vehicles, and geotag data generated by mobile social networks, and unban taxi transportation data. This era has prompted for large-scale spatial data collection, storage, processing and analytics and dissemination technologies, advancing our knowledge about human behaviour and interactions unban cities. Evolution of such technologies and methodologies, in addition to the high investments in Internet of things (IoT) deployments, has inherently led to a number of security, privacy and ethical issues as well as new systems, networking, and application challenges.

This workshop will bring together database, data mining, mobile computing, and systems research to understand the challenges ahead and advance the dialogue on hot topics related to big spatial data processing and applications in urban computing. It aims to attract publications on: novel data collection, data analysis and knowledge-discovery methodologies; showcasing demonstrations of innovative real-world technologies, applications, and large-scale deployment experiences; innovative large-scale systems and big spatial data and location traces analytics.
