讲座简介:
There is about 4ZB of digital data in the universe, and it is expected
to grow by a factor of 10 over the next decade. In the information
society, data is information and information is money. But conventional
technology cannot effectively process these vast amounts of data, and
new paradigms are required. Big Data is a new generation of technologies
and architectures, designed to economically extract value from very
large volumes of a wide variety of data by enabling high velocity
capture, analysis, and/or discovery.
In this talk, some interesting facts about the digital universe will be
presented and the current technological trends to manage Big Data,
including storage, management, processing, and analysis, will be
discussed. This period of "space exploration" of the digital universe
will not be without its challenges. But for the "astronauts" involved,
it represents a unique, perhaps once-in-a-carreer opportunity to drive
growth for their businesses.
